Alex Ferguson, a Scottish born footballer (born on 10 September 2003) is currently 21 years old. He's a midfielder who predominantly occupies a central attacking midfield role for St Johnstone. Standing at 5ft 10in (1.78m) tall and weighing in at 11st (70kg), he's a solid prospect in the heart of midfield, wearing the number 28 jersey.
According to Transfermarkt his current market value is around £45k. His contract with St Johnstone is due to expire in short order, with 1 month left to run until its culmination on 31 May 2025.
Back in July 2019, Ferguson embarked on his footballing journey with St Johnstone, joining their ranks as a trainee in Scotland's Premiership. In his debut season of 2020-2021, he made but a singular appearance for the first team in league matches. Unfortunately, in the current season (2024-2025), Ferguson has yet to find himself included in a first team match day squad.
Ferguson's career has seen him spend temporary stints away from St Johnstone. In July 2021, he moved on loan to Edinburgh City, a team occupying the fourth tier of Scottish football, League Two. After successfully completing his loan in January 2022, Ferguson returned to St Johnstone. His return, however, was short-lived as he was loaned to Cowdenbeath in the Lowland League in February 2022, only to return once again to his parent club in June the same year.
The midfielder's loan adventures continued in July 2022, this time venturing to East Fife. In the two seasons he spent there, he made his mark with 28 first team appearances and even managed to chip in with four goals. Upon completion of his loan in June 2023, Ferguson was once again recalled to St Johnstone.
The revolving door of loans did not relent. In August 2023, Ferguson travelled to Queen of the South in League One. Post his stint there, he returned to St Johnstone in June 2024, only to be loaned out yet again in September of the same year, this time to Stirling Albion in League Two.
Currently, in 2025, post a short spell with Stirling Albion, Ferguson finds himself on loan at Forfar Athletic. As his St Johnstone contract runs down, fans eagerly anticipate his next move, be it a return to St Johnstone for a sustained stint or perhaps a fresh start elsewhere. His journey thus far has been about experience and growth, a necessary evolutionary process in the rough and tumble world of football.
