Alasana Manneh, born on the 8th of April 1998 in Gambia, is a 26-year-old central midfielder who is presently under contract with Hibernian. Standing at 5 ft 9 in (1.76m) and weighing 10st 3lb (65kg), the number 8 jersey wearer has also sported the colours of his native Gambia at the national team level.
His market value, estimated at about ÂŁ600k as per Transfermarkt, is set to face change as his term with Hibernian, lasting a further 3 years and 4 months, edges towards its endpoint on 31 May 2028.
Manneh's journey towards Hibernian witnessed various turns. In January 2018, he momentarily left FC Barcelona B in the Second Division B/1 in Spain for a loan at Etar Veliko Tarnovo in the Bulgarian Second League. There, he made a noticeable debut season (2018-2019), securing two goals over 15 first-team appearances in league matches. Following the loan's conclusion, he returned to FC Barcelona B in June 2019.
However, the following month saw him on the move again, this time signing on with Gornik Zabrze in the Ekstraklasa in Poland. During his time there (2019 - 2023), Manneh bolstered his record with six goals spanning 85 league matches, even though his last season (2022-2023) saw limited action with only four first-team appearances.
In August 2022, Manneh accepted the bid from Odense BK in Denmark's 1. division, a move, that came at a cost of approximately ÂŁ540k. Building on his previous performances, he left an impressive mark, with three goals and 56 league matches under his belt in less than three seasons (2022 - 2025).
January 2025 brought Manneh to Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership for an undisclosed fee. And although his tenure at Hibernian is still in its infancy with only a single league match to his credit, there's surely more to come from this determined player.
Beyond his club commitments, Manneh has represented Gambia in the World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024 - 2026, with three starts to his name.
