Alasana Manneh, a central midfielder currently playing for Hibernian, was born on 8 April 1998 in The Gambia. With height and weight measurements at 5ft 9in (1.76m) and 10st 3lb (65kg) respectively, he adds substance and style to the pitch whilst donning the number 8 jersey. Manneh has also donned his national colours, with a proud contribution to the Gambian national team.
Manneh's current market value is roughly £560k, according to Transfermarkt.
Manneh's football journey has seen him embrace some noteworthy transfers. Nearly half a decade back in January 2018, he made a switch from FC Barcelona B in Spain's Second Division B/1 to Etar Veliko Tarnovo in Bulgaria's Second League, joining the latter on loan. He had a resonating impact there making 15 appearances and scoring two goals in league matches during the 2018-2019 season.
Post the culmination of this stint, in June 2019, Manneh returned to FC Barcelona B. However, his lightly nomadic career saw him transfer again in July 2019, this time to Gornik Zabrze in Poland's Ekstraklasa. His time in Poland, spanning four seasons, was punctuated by a total of 85 first team appearances and six league goals.
In August 2022, the central midfielder transferred from Gornik Zabrze to Odense BK in Denmark's Superliga, the deal estimating a transfer fee of about £540k. His sophistical football skills shone in Denmark with 56 first team appearances and three goals in league matches over three seasons.
Manneh's latest venture saw him move to Scottish soil in January 2025 with a transfer to Hibernian in Scotland's Premiership for an undisclosed fee. He managed four first team appearances in the remaining season and has made just the one appearance so far in the current 2025-2026 season.
In the midst of his club commitments, Manneh also competed in the League Cup 2025-2026 for Hibernian, the World Cup Qualifiers Africa 2024-2026 for Gambia, Europa League Qualifiers 2025-2026 and Conference League Qualifiers 2025-2026, both for Hibernian. Definitely a name on the rise.
