Adam Idah was born in Cork on 11 February 2001 (age 25) and represents the Republic of Ireland. A commanding 6ft 3in (1.90m) striker, he made his name at Norwich City, the club that has shaped most of his senior career.
Norwich gave him the bulk of his league football: 100 league appearances and 12 goals across six seasons. That spell remains the main body of his career, even if his development has also involved moves elsewhere and the usual stop-start rhythm that comes with being a young striker trying to become a dependable one.
Celtic brought him in from Norwich in February 2024. His most productive league season came in Glasgow in 2024-25, when he scored 13 goals in 35 appearances. That was useful output, and not something to be dismissed lightly, even if his overall career is still more strongly tied to Norwich than to Celtic.
He made two league appearances for Celtic in 2025-26 before leaving in September 2025 for Swansea City, where he took the number 9 shirt. At Swansea, he has been a regular first-team presence, making 25 league appearances and scoring six goals. He has also remained involved with Ireland, with six World Cup qualifying appearances and one goal this season.
Idah’s market value is around £4.5m, according to Transfermarkt. His career to date is a Norwich-developed striker’s path with a productive Celtic spell and a continuing role at Swansea, rather than a neat straight line.
