Adam Idah, born 11 February 2001, is a Republic of Ireland forward who, at 24 years of age, is currently contracted to Celtic Football Club. Idah is a towering figure in the striking position, standing at 6ft 2in (1.9m) tall and weighing in at a solid 13st (83kg). He wears the iconic number 9 jersey, taking up the mantle of many past Celtic greats, and has also represented his home country of Republic of Ireland at the international level.
According to Transfermarkt, Idah's market value is approximately £5.5m, and he remains under contract with Celtic until 30 June 2029, giving the promising forward ample time to bolster his value and contribution to the team.
Idah's footballing journey began in earnest in July 2017, at the tender age of 16, when he joined Norwich City in England's Championship division as a trainee. Over his tenure at Norwich from 2019 to 2025, Idah made an impressive combined total of 100 first team appearances in league matches, netting a total of 15 goals.
In a twist of fate, February 2024 saw Idah part ways with Norwich City on a loan deal that brought him to Celtic. During the 2023-2024 season at Celtic, Idah's impact was immediate and palpable, with the striker scoring eight goals in only 15 appearances. His impressive form continued into the 2024-2025 season, as he found the back of the net 13 times across 35 matches. As of the current season (2025-2026), Idah has made two first team appearances in league matches for Celtic.
After his successful loan stint, Idah made his move to Celtic permanent, with the Hoops securing his services from Norwich City in August 2024 for a substantial fee of around £8.5m.
In addition to his domestic contributions, Idah has also made waves on the international stage, scoring twice for the Republic of Ireland in the Euro Qualifiers 2022-2024, and once in the Nations League 2024-2025. At club level in Scotland, he has made his mark as well, scoring two goals in the Scottish Cup 2024-2025 for Celtic and three goals in the Champions League 2024-2025.
Adam Idah's journey with Celtic is relatively young, and if his early performances are anything to go by, the future looks bright for both the player and the club. At the age of 24, there is no telling just how much more Idah can achieve in the green and white hoops of Celtic.
