Adam Idah, born 11 February 2001, hails from the Republic of Ireland. He currently fills the shoes of a striker for Celtic, standing at 6ft 2in tall (1.9m) and tipping the scales at 13 stone (83kg). Number 9 graces the back of his parka. Not only does the lad grace the pitches of Scotland, but he also proudly represents the hawk-eyed Irish national team.
Transfermarkt estimates this young man's current market value at a modest £3m. And it appears he's got quite a future at Celtic, extending deep into the summer of 2029.
In the brief 2024 - 2025 season, he's had just the one match under his belt. The lad has also made a mustard of the 2024 - 2025 League Cup for Celtic, coming on once as a substitute. On the other side of the coin with the Scottish Cup in the season prior, he's chalked up a single goal from two starts, with a pair of substitute appearances thrown in. The Rep. of Ireland also had the privilege of his skills during the Euro Qualifiers 2022 - 2024, where he pocketed a brace of goals from three starts, with five occasions coming on as a substitute.
Digging into a bit of history, Norwich City, in England’s Championship, was Idah's stomping ground pre-Celtic. Starting as a trainee in 2017, he made a respectable progression through the ranks. They brought him into the first team gradually from the 2019-2020 season onwards. The ins and outs of it involved consistent appearances in each season, a tally that kept notching up, with his goal haul gradually doing much the same, peaking in the 2023-2024 season with six goals from 28 appearances.
Remarkably, he boosted his tally when he was on loan at Celtic in the Premiership, with eight goals chalked up in 15 appearances during the 2023-2024 season. That impressive performance may explain why, come August 2024, Idah transferred from Norwich to Celtic for a neat £8.5m.
