Christopher Jullien is a professional footballer born on 22 March 1993 in France, making him of the ripe age of 31 today. At an imposing height of 1.96m (6ft 5in) and weight of 88kg (13st 12lb), he currently plays primarily as a central defender for Montpellier, donning the number 6 jersey.
Julien's professional journey began in July 2012 when he joined Auxerre in the Ligue 1 in France. In his debut season (2012 - 2013), Jullien proudly made 25 first team appearances and scored two goals in league matches. However, his tenure at Auxerre was short-lived as he moved to Freiburg in the Bundesliga, Germany in July 2013. Regrettably, his 2014 - 2015 season at Freiburg was marked by only a single first team appearance in the league.
In a turn of events, Jullien found himself transferred on loan in July 2015 to Dijon in the Championnat National in France. Solemnising an extraordinary performance, Jullien made 34 first team appearances and scored nine goals during his 2015 - 2016 season at Dijon. However, he was not retained and ended up transferring from Freiburg to Toulouse in the Ligue 1 in France in July 2016 for a fee of a compendious £2.3m.
At Toulouse, Jullien proved his mettle as an intrinsic player. Across three seasons (2016 - 2019), he made nearly a hundred appearances and scored six goals before his talent attracted the attention of Celtic from the Scottish Premiership. In July 2019, Jullien transferred from Toulouse to Celtic for a substantial fee of around £7m.
During his time at Celtic, Jullien made substantial contributions to the club. In his maiden season (2019 - 2020), he made 28 appearances, scoring four goals in the process. The following season of 2020 - 2021 saw Jullien face adversity with limited first team play, with only nine appearances and a single goal.
After representing Celtic for two seasons, Jullien was transferred to Montpellier in the Ligue 1 in France in August 2022. The details of this transfer remain undisclosed. Nevertheless, his performance at Montpellier, though marred by limited first team appearances in his recent season 2024 - 2025, reflects a stalwart player who has proven his ability and resilience over the years.
